Buzzard’s Booty Official Treasure Hunting Kit

The Historic Preservation Trust of Lancaster County is proud to once again partner with Uncharted Lancaster for the 2025 treasure hunt, Buzzard’s Booty: Quest for the Lost JBT Treasure. This year’s adventure delves into the history and legends of the notorious Buzzard Gang as participants navigate Lancaster County and beyond in search of the lost JBT treasure—including the elusive globus cruciger.

To participate in this exciting five-week event, teams must purchase an official Treasure Diary, which contains essential clues, historical insights, and the roadmap to solving the mystery. The Treasure Diary is required for both the Professional and Amateur Divisions, ensuring all teams have the same access to the necessary information.

Proceeds from the sale of the Treasure Diary support the Historic Preservation Trust of Lancaster County in its mission to educate and advocate for the preservation of historic sites and properties whose integrity of design, settings, materials, and workmanship contribute to the character of Lancaster County.
